DST — Tajima Embroidery Format
imageDST is the most widely supported machine embroidery format, created by Tajima and readable by nearly every commercial embroidery machine. It stores stitch coordinates and machine commands but carries no colour information, which is why a DST file has to be paired with a colour sequence when it is stitched out.

⚙Technical details
Binary format storing relative stitch coordinates in 0.1 mm units, plus jump, colour-change and trim commands. The header holds the stitch count and design bounds. Colours are not stored — machines apply the operator thread sequence.
