About the X3F format

RAW — Sigma X3F RAW

X3F is Sigma's proprietary RAW format used in cameras equipped with the Foveon X3 sensor. Unlike conventional Bayer sensors, the Foveon captures red, green, and blue data at every pixel location, producing unique color rendering and sharpness.

Common uses

  • Sigma camera photography with Foveon sensor
  • Studio and still-life photography
  • Architecture and detail-oriented photography
  • Color-critical professional workflows

About the DST format

DST — Tajima Embroidery Format

DST is the most widely supported machine embroidery format, created by Tajima and readable by nearly every commercial embroidery machine. It stores stitch coordinates and machine commands but carries no colour information, which is why a DST file has to be paired with a colour sequence when it is stitched out.

Common uses

  • Sending designs to commercial Tajima, Barudan and Melco machines
  • Exchanging embroidery designs between machine brands
  • Digitizing software output for production embroidery
  • Previewing a stitch file before running it on a machine
