About the SIX format
SIXEL — DEC SIXEL Graphics
SIXEL is a graphics format developed by DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) for use in terminals and printers. It encodes bitmap images as a series of six-pixel-high bands transmitted as printable ASCII characters, and has seen a resurgence in modern terminal emulators.

About the PAM format
PAM — Portable Arbitrary Map
PAM is an extended Netpbm format that generalizes PBM/PGM/PPM to support arbitrary numbers of channels and depths. It can store RGBA (color with transparency), CMYK, or any custom multi-channel image, making it the most capable member of the Netpbm family.
