About the RLE format
RLE — Utah Run Length Encoded
RLE (Utah RLE) is a raster image format developed at the University of Utah's Computer Graphics Lab, one of the pioneering institutions in computer graphics. It uses run-length encoding for compression and supported alpha channels early in the history of digital imaging.

About the JEF format
JEF — Janome Embroidery Format
JEF is the native machine embroidery format for Janome and Elna embroidery machines. Unlike DST it does store thread colour information, so a JEF file carries both the stitch path and the colour sequence the machine should follow.
