About the RLA format
RLA — Alias/Wavefront RLA Image
RLA is a multi-channel image format developed by Alias Research (later Alias|Wavefront, now Autodesk) for 3D rendering and compositing. It stores standard color channels alongside auxiliary channels such as depth (Z), object ID, and normal vectors, enabling sophisticated compositing workflows.
