EOT — Embedded OpenType
EOT is Microsoft's proprietary compressed font format developed specifically for Internet Explorer's implementation of web fonts. While it was the only web font format IE supported for many years, it is now largely obsolete with IE's end of life and is only maintained for legacy compatibility.
