PAM — Portable Arbitrary Map
PAM is an extended Netpbm format that generalizes PBM/PGM/PPM to support arbitrary numbers of channels and depths. It can store RGBA (color with transparency), CMYK, or any custom multi-channel image, making it the most capable member of the Netpbm family.

JAR — Java Archive
A JAR file is a ZIP archive that packages compiled Java classes, resources and a manifest into one distributable file. Because the container is plain ZIP, a JAR can be opened, repacked or converted with any archive tool — the only thing that makes it a JAR is the META-INF/MANIFEST.MF entry.
