DST — Tajima Embroidery Format
DST is the most widely supported machine embroidery format, created by Tajima and readable by nearly every commercial embroidery machine. It stores stitch coordinates and machine commands but carries no colour information, which is why a DST file has to be paired with a colour sequence when it is stitched out.

WMF — Windows Metafile
WMF is Microsoft's older vector graphics format that stores a sequence of GDI (Graphics Device Interface) drawing commands. It was the standard format for scalable graphics in Windows 3.x through Windows 95 era and is still used in some legacy applications and document formats.
