DST — Tajima Embroidery Format
DST is the most widely supported machine embroidery format, created by Tajima and readable by nearly every commercial embroidery machine. It stores stitch coordinates and machine commands but carries no colour information, which is why a DST file has to be paired with a colour sequence when it is stitched out.

HEIF is the container format standard developed by MPEG for storing images encoded with HEVC (H.265). While HEIC is the specific Apple implementation, HEIF is the underlying open standard that supports a broader range of encoders including AV1 (AVIF).
